Is fall a good time to sell your house?
Although traditionally people think spring and summer is the best time to sell your house, and I will say that there are more buyers in the market in the spring and the summer, but there’s also more houses for sale. This means more competition in the marketplace which also means more houses for the buyers to choose from.
Right now in the fall selling season, there are fewer houses on the market and buyers who are out there looking are more serious. Usually, fall buyers tend to be more motivated to buy something. The buyers in the spring market are sometimes just “lookie-loos” and maybe not as serious about purchasing a home.
But if you’re out there shopping right now as we head into the holidays, people are ready to buy a house. Home are also beautiful to show right now as we’ve got some beautiful colors and some fun decorations going on and that usually continues even through the holiday season. When you have your home decorated this time of year, it’s usually very festive and inviting for potential buyers. Holidays can strike an emotional cord with buyers imagining their own holidays in your home.
So if you’ve been thinking about selling your house, there’s no reason to wait until the spring market.
